Setting up transplant models of ischemia/reperfusion injury, T cell- and antibody-mediated rejection as well as chronic transplant rejection to solid organ grafts. Pharmacological and cellular therapy strategies for transplantation tolerance.

Microsurgeon in the Laboratory of Transplant Immunology of Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri IRCCS, located at Villa Camozzi, Ranica (BG). Since 1995 Nadia has been working first as a research fellow then as a scientist. Currently, she performes kidney, heart and lung transplantation in rodents, making her one of the most skilled microsurgeons in preclinical transplant studies worldwide. She has acquired a unique 25-year expertise in working with laboratory animals, paying particular attention to animal welfare.


Her role in the project will be the execution of the surgical procedures required for implantation of Silkelastograft grafts; in particular, replacement of a segment of aorta and the creation of a vein-artery shunt between the femoral vessels. She will follow-up and take care of all the experimental animals throughout the entire study together with Dr.ssa Sonia Fiori.
