Elia Pederzani

Master’s degree in biomedical engineering

Cardiovascular Biomechanics and Tissue engineering.

Elia Pederzani obtained his master’s degree in biomedical engineering at Politecnico di Milano in April 2019. In particular, his education focuses on cell engineering, tissue and biotechnology. As part of his master’s thesis he designed and prototyped a device for the study of pathological phenomena in human vascular tissues triggered by peculiar hemodynamic conditions. During his experimental activity he acquired excellent knowledge of CAD modeling software, of fluid dynamics simulation and of the main rapid prototyping technologies. After the master’s degree, he completed a traineeship at Politecnico di Milano and subsequently he has obtained a research grant for the development of devices for cardiovascular studies.

Elia Pederzani is a young researcher and he is responsible for the development of fluidic devices for treatment and characterization of organs and tissues set up and protocols for the characterization of small calibre vessels. In particular, he designs a new bioreactor usable in micro-CT, that allows the positioning, tensioning and conditioning of the biological sample; moreover, a compact and easily transportable interface is provided that allows to monitor and act on the parameters of interest.
