New collaboration established between Silkelastograft and an Italian research excellence, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, partner facility of CERIC-ERIC. CERIC-ERIC is a multidisciplinary Research Infrastructure open for users in the fields of Materials, Biomaterials and Nanotechnology. With a single entry point to excellent facilities in Europe, it allows structural investigation, analysis and synthesis of materials, using photon, electron, neutron, and ion based techniques. The CERIC Italian facility, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, is a multidisciplinary international research center of excellence, specialized in generating high quality synchrotron and free-electron laser light and applying it in materials and life sciences. Thanks to the facilities provided by SISSI (Synchrotron Infrared Source for Spectroscopy and Imaging) beamline, we are deepening the functional aspect of our advanced bio-hybrid Silkothane-based graft at the micro and nanoscale. The exploitation of high-tech spectroscopic instruments will provide a comprehensive morpho-chemical information of our graft, boosting our research to design patient-tailored devices.
